We arrived at Legazpi Airport at 7:00am and the hotel's shuttle service was already waiting for us at the airport's parking lot. We were offered a bottle of ice cold mineral water and cold face towels, which we appreciated so much as they helped us cool down from the summer heat.
From the airport, it only took about 15 minutes drive to get to the hotel. When we stepped out of the van, we were overwhelmed how massive the hotel's building was. The dominating color was white and the building's architectural design was impressive. The use of glass and geometrical structures made the building look very modern. The hotel's design made its interior appear well lighted and ultra spacious.

The Oriental Legazpi: Deluxe Twin Room
Our room was spacious enough to fit our twin beds with ample space to move around. The high ceiling and warm lights kept a cozy atmosphere inside the room. It was equipped with an individually controlled air-conditioning unit, a minibar, a safe and cable TV. There's also free WiFi Internet access. The beds were very comfortable and were covered with fresh and clean white linen. The room's elegant interior did bring a feeling of refreshment to us during our stay.

Our shower room was equally spacious. It was clean and looked well maintained. What we loved the most was the shower! The rain shower head and the excellent water pressure made it feel like you were really taking a shower in the rain.
After a quick shower, we went to the hotel's second floor to check out the pride of The Oriental Legazpi, an infinity pool with a view of Mayon! From here, you can also enjoy a view over the Legazpi cityscape.

Another highlight of our stay was the breakfast buffet. Set at the Jasmine Restaurant located on the ground floor, the buffet included Filipino and Continental dishes. There's also an omelet station. What we loved the most was a dish with a rather interesting name, the famous dried fish of Bicolandia called new look. We have no idea where it got its name, but despite the name, it was so delicious!

Transportation shouldn't be a problem as there are taxis available to bring you around the city. Just approach the hotel's staff if you need a taxi and one will be at the driveway in 10mintes. Note however that an additional P50 will be charged by the taxi on top of the fare. If you feel like it, you can take a leisurely downhill walk to the citycenter. Going back to the hotel, you can just take any taxi stationed at the city's commercial centers (LCC Mall, Embarcadero, etc). Roundtrip airport transfers are included in the room rate.
Overall, The Oriental Legazpi is on the expensive side but with their superb rooms, awesome view of Mayon and wonderful breakfast, plus the excellent customer service, spending your holiday at The Oriental Legazpi is totally worth every peso. If you are a foodie, The Oriental Legazpi is the perfect choice for you as it is located quite near to Legazpi City's top restaurants.
