The province of Marinduque is a popular travel destination during Holy Week primarily for its annual Moriones Festival. To reach the island province by land, one will have to travel by bus from Manila to Dalahican Port in Lucena, Quezon, then take a RORO ferry to the port of Mogpog or Boac in Marinduque; and finally take the local jeepney to your town of destination in the province.
It's a long and stressful journey where you would need to line up for your bus tickets in Manila, line up again at Dalahican Port to purchase your tickets for the RORO ferry, and if you were unlucky, you would also need to wait for hours for the next ferry trip. Now imagine how the scenario would be during the peak season of the Holy Week. Pure chaos!
Those days are long gone. Thanks to JAC Liner for its Marinduque Seat Reservation through which passengers can now reserve bus seats in advance. The total fare already includes the bus fare, as well as the fare for the RORO ferry and the terminal fee. Everything will be arranged by JAC Liner so that the passengers can simply seat and relax during the trip.
JAC Liner Marinduque Seat Reservation System |
This seat reservation service is available all year round, including holidays. So, if you are planning a trip to Marinduque during Holy Week, we highly suggest that you take advantage of this service.
With this system, passengers may choose their preferred seats. Note however that disabled and senior citizen passengers are prioritized for seats 1-12.
Reserving our tickets at JAC Liner Kamias |
After full payment, JAC Liner will issue a Bus Seat Reservation document bearing the passenger's name, the travel details, and validated with the reservation officer's name and signature. Don't loose this reservation document because you will need to surrender it on your date of travel. It will then be replaced with the actual bus tickets.

During Holy Week however, boarding of the bus will start at 3:00pm and will depart at around 4:00pm. The same bus will pick up passengers at JAC Liner's terminal at Buendia, Pasay. The bus will have its first stop at Turbina in Calamba, Laguna where passengers can have a quick break. Expect heavy traffic when you reach Tiaong and Sariaya in Quezon Province. The bus will have its last stop before reaching Lucena City in Quezon Province.
JAC Liner bus at Kamias Terminal (L), the busy Dalaican Port at midnight (R) |
The bus will finally arrive at Dalahican Port in Lucena City around midnight. The JAC Liner passengers will be prioritized to board the RORO ferry (Montenegro Shipping Line) since tickets were already arranged in advance. Once the bus and other vehicles are boarded, the RORO is ready to leave the port. Arrival at the port in Mogpog, Marinduque is around 4:00am. No need to take the local jeepney because the JAC Liner bus will bring you to your town of destination, with the last stop at Sta. Cruz, Marinduque. Travel from Mogog to Boac will take around an hour.
