When in Bicol, the first order of business is to try Bicolano cuisine served in local restaurants. If it is your first time in Legazpi City, Small Talk Cafe is an interesting restaurant that serves pizza and pasta dishes with a Bicolano twist.
The restaurant's fusion Bicolano cuisine include pasta pinangat (see below), spaghetti noodles with sauce made of taro leaves blended in coconut cream. Other pasta specialties of Small Talk Cafe are pasta mayon (pinangat ravioli with tomato tuna sauce), pili basil pasta (spaghetti noodles with pesto sauce and roasted pili nuts), and bicol express pasta (spaghetti noodles with bicol express alamang, chili peppers and coconut milk). Another must-try is their pizza biclana, pizza topped with mozzarella cheese, pineapples, mushroom and pinangat.
Finally, no Bicolano food trip is complete without the famous bicol express that comes in different versions. Small Talk Cafe serves the bicol express alamang variant that is rich in alamang or shrimp paste.
