We're back in Puerto Princesa City this year for a trip to El Nido in Northern Palawan. We flew in to Puerto Princesa on the 25th of November, where we will spend one night and catch the first bus leaving for El Nido the following morning, and spend another night on the 30th of November and fly out to Manila the following day.
We chose to stay at GoHotels Puerto Princesa mainly because of its close proximity to the bus terminal. Reaching the hotel from the airport was very convenient since the hotel offered FREE* airport transfer to its guests during the time of our visit.
They have two room types, the Queen Room and the Twin Room, which can accommodate two adults and one child. Extra person charge is Php500.00 but the hotel does not provide extra bed or mattress.

There is also free wifi Internet connection inside the room and at the lobby, just ask the frontdesk staff for the password. Wifi signal strength may vary from room to room. If you need a steady wifi connection, we recommend that you use the lobby's wifi. Please read also our separate post on mobile internet connection review for Puerto Princesa.
We also liked the bed! With clean bed sheets and ultra comfy pillows, these beds will surely make you feel recharged.

There's one rule to remember when staying at any GoHotels branch: smoking & eating are not allowed inside the rooms. A common dining area is provided on each floor and please practice clean-as-you-go as courtesy to the next guests who might use the tables.
GoHotels Puerto Princesa also has a function room available exclusive to its guests for a fee of Php1,000.00 per hour (VAT inclusive). Ideal for trainings and seminars, the room is very spacious and well-lit, and it can seat 25-30 persons. Should you wish to serve food during your event, an additional corkerage fee of Php1,000.00 will be charged by the hotel. If you intend to use their function room, it is best to confirm its availability with the hotel in advance. They can temporarily reserve the function room for confirmed hotel guests only.

GoHotels Puerto Princesa is also strategically located next to the newly opened Robinsons Place Palawan, the first full-service mall in the province. It has a food court and a number of fast food and fine dining restaurants. If you want a more authentic Puerto Princesa dining experience, the downtown area is just a tricycle ride away (standard fare is Php8.00 per person).
A trip to Puerto Princesa is never complete without visiting its many natural attractions such as the Puerto Princesa Underground River and Honda Bay or a leisurely trip around the town or watching fireflies by Iwahig River. Just approach the friendly staff of Gulliver's 24/7 Travel and Tours at the ground floor of the hotel and they will be more than happy to help you arrange a tour of your choice.

ReplyDeletewelcome to ptb!
Thanks for dropping by Chyng :-) Looking forward to meeting you and other PTB members :-) See you around. Happy New Year!
DeleteI am staying there next week. Would you know if Gullivers offers tours for one person only? Are its rates competitive? Thanks in advance.
ReplyDeleteHi Pout. Gullivers, like all other tour operators in Puerto Princesa, charges the standard rate as mandated by the city government. The rates are on per-person-basis and most of which already includes transportation, permits and buffet meal(s). If you are in a small group, or in your case a solo traveler, you will be grouped together with their other small tourist groups. In our case, Ed and I were grouped together with 6 other tourists when we availed their firefly watching tour. You can contact them directly at 09172411715/09053260686 if you have other questions. I hope you enjoy your trip to Puerto Princesa.
Deletewow this is great! I booked 1 room now for January 2. Only costs 770 with taxes. :)
