Here is the schedule of activities for the 440th Araw ng Pasig celebration. On July 2, 2013, the City of Pasig will celebrate the 440th year anniversary of its founding. It was established by the Augustinian friars on July 2, 1573, which makes Pasig one of the oldest towns in the Philippines. Today, Pasig is among the most vibrant and progressive cities in the country.
For Araw ng Pasig 2013, the Office of the Presedent of the Republic of the Philippines has declared July 2, 2013, by virture of Proclamation 607, as special non-working day in the City of Pasig. The proclamation reads:
WHEREAS, the City of Pasig marks the celebration of its 440th Anniversary on Tuesday, 2 July 2013;
WHEREAS, it is but fitting and proper that the people of the City of Pasig be given full opportunity to celebrate and participate in the occasion with appropriate ceremonies.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, PAQUITO N. OCHOA JR., Executive Secretary, by authority of His Excellency, BENIGNO S. AQUINO III, do hereby declare Tuesday, 2 July 2013, as a special (non-working) day in the City of Pasig.
