Bulingan Falls of Lamitan, Basilan
Hidden in the forest of Lamitan City lies one of Basilan's natural wonders, the Bulingan Falls. With peace and order restored and a promising economic development in the city, Lamitan is opening itself to tourism, waiting to be rediscovered and experienced by every Filipino.
On a clear sunny day, the Bulingan Falls will delight visitors with clear water cascading into a natural pool. The water is so clear, you can the pool's bottom. On a rainy day, visitors will be mesmerized by the display of the raging waters trickled by its wall.
The most remarkable feature of Bulingan Falls are its walls. One would suspect that it was a work by a landscape artist utilizing columns of rocks beautifully arranged and piled on top of each other, creating a wall that resembles a pipe organ. You will be amazed to find out that the wall is a natural rock formation.
Bulingan Falls is now gaining popularity mainly to the citizens of Basilan province and the nearby Zamboanga City. At present, infrastructure projects, such as road concreting and construction of foot paths, are being conducted by city government to make Bulingan Falls more accessible to its citizens and to visitors.
We would like to thank the Lamitan City Tourism Office headed by Maam Corazon Arreola for a fun-filled trip around Lamitan City last August 6, 2013. On behalf of the City of Lamitan, we invite you to come and visit Bulingan Falls and experience its natural beauty that is uniquely Lamitan.
