The Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) is an annual film festival in Metro Manila, Philippines featuring Filipino produced films. During the film festival, which starts on December 25 and ends on the first week of January, no foreign films are shown in theaters around the country. The festival started in back in 1975.
This year, the 39th Metro Manila Film Festival has eight official entries in various movie genres including drama, action, comedy, horror and suspense, romance, and biography. Chairman Francis Tolentino of the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced that an initial P500,000 from the proceeds of MMFF will be donated to the victims of Typhoon Yolanda.
