Staycation with Barkada in Quezon City

Christmas is one of the occasions when my barkada and I would meet up for a catch-up lunch or dinner. It is also an opportunity for us to plan for our annual brakada summer outing. This year, we decided to have a weekend Christmas staycation in Metro Manila so we can have more time to bond and enjoy extended hours of chikahan.

It is Christmas season and as expected, hotels would be on peak season rates. We called several hotels and most of the affordable ones were already fully booked. Ramil learned about the newly opened Tune Hotels branch in Quezon City and checked out the rates and room availability. Dinner at Primero Casa Filipino

One of my friends was also celebrating her birthday that week. She treated us for a buffet dinner at Primero Casa Filipino located at the corner of Sct. Torillo Street and Sct. Fernandez Street. We then ordered a caramel cake at Estrel's located at the corner of Sct. Tobias Street and Sct. Fernandez Street.

We were supposed to have a karaoke night but most KTVs were full so we resorted to an after-dinner coffee. We suggested Highlands Coffee which is also located along Timog Avenue, just a block away from Tune Hotels.

My barkada enjoyed their first Vietnamese Coffee experience at Highlands Coffee. It was a great alternative to the usual Starbucks or Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. Time flew by so quickly that it was already 3:00am when we left the cafe. It was indeed an evening that we all enjoyed. We walked back to the hotel and called it a night.

The following morning, it was time to say bye to my barkada. Our first Christmas Staycation with the barkada was a success. This may be the start of our annual Christmas Staycations, yey! Next year, we might try out Tune Hotel Ortigas Center which will open in January 2014. Let's see :-)

Buddy's Pancit Lucban

Before we checked-out from the hotel, we had a quick breakfast at the nearby Buddy's Pancit Lucban at Longganisang Lucban along Timog Avenue. We ordered pancit lucban, longganisang lucban and lumpiang shanghai.

The area of Timog Avenue and Tomas Morato in Quezon City is indeed a great location to have a staycation, either with your family or friends.
