This coming weekend, MarQuee Mall will once again bring together the flavors of the North in a food festival like no other. Happening on October 17-19, Big Bite: The Northern Food Festival 2014 will feature dishes and other culinary favorites from the Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon and the Cordilleras with more than 100 food merchants from various provinces participating in the Food Market.
The weekend event will kick-off on Friday, October 17 with a Giant Sisig cook-off. Sisig, Pampanga's most celebrated dish of our time, will be one of the highlights of the event. Sample different versions of the sisig, from the traditional to the modern, through cooking demos and culinary cook-offs.

This year's Big Bite event will also infuse visual art into culinary art, creating dishes that are appealing both to the eyes and to the tummy as well. Artworks by award-winning visual artist Leeroy New and the Pampanga Arts Guild will be on display for guests to marvel during the event.

Another addition to the Food Market are the Street Food Specials, featuring Pinoy street food favorites such as the binatog, strawberry taho, various kakanin, barbecue and other grilled meat on stick.

And of course, classic Filipino and regional delicacies will also be present during the three-day food festival. There will be longganisa from different towns and provinces. You shouldn't miss the Batac Empanada, the Bagnet of Ilocos, and Chicharon of Bulacan.

Your visit to Pampanga will not be complete unless you try some of the exotic dishes this province is known for such as the Betute (fried stuffed frogs) and the Camaro (stewed crickets).
