Seven Corners Restaurant, the premier buffet restaurant of Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria, brings the Flavors of Singapore on March 1-13, 2016. To ensure that guests enjoy the authentic taste of Singaporean cuisine, Crowne Plaza Manila Ortigas has flow in Chef Chua Yew Hock, the Executive Chef of Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium.

Here's my buffet plate containing almost all of the Singaporean dishes served on the buffet spread. There's a good mix of chicken, beef, fish and vegetable dishes. Below are the individual dishes displayed on the buffet stations:
Sambal Top Shell - This is a cold salad made with top shell sea snail and onions and dressed with sweet and spicy sambal sauce
Gado-Gado - This is a salad of Indonesian origin. It consists of various vegetables, tofu and eggs and served with peanut sauce and prawn crackers.
Teh Tarik - This is a hot milk tea or pulled milk tea which is very common in Singapore. This is normally served in restaurants and kopi tiams in Singapore and Malaysia.
Nasi Goreng - This fried rice originated from Indonesia and is now widely served in Malaysia, Singapore and even in the Philippines.
Vegetable Stew - This is a very basic dish of mixed vegetbles cooked with sliced tofu and mushrooms. Almost resembling the Filipino dish lumpiang hubad, this dish has a distinct Singaporean flavor.
Ngoh Hiang - This Fookien dish is very famous is Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia, and even in Cebu, Philippines. It is basically pork and shrimp flavored with five spiced, wrapped in beancurd skin and then fried until golden brown. I find the taste almost similar to the kikiam which we can buy in Ongpin, but this one has a lighter taste and is more compact.
Sambal Fish - A basic dish made of fried fish fillets and cooked in sambal-based sauce. It is very aromatic with a very balanced taste. Perfect with Nasi Goreng or Steamed Rice.
Chicken Curry - Chef Chua prepared a Singaporean-Chinese version of the Chicken Curry with a balanced spiciness, sweetness and creaminess from the coconut milk. The chicken was very tender, the potatoes were infused with the aromatic flavor of the curry. This one is also perfect with steamed rice.
Hainanese Chicken - This is where the Singaporean Chicken Rice got its amazing flavor. The chicken was tender, with a light taste of ginger. It has a balanced saltiness that perfectly blends with the chicken rice.
Beef Rendang - This is another dish that originated from Indonesia. It is one of my favorite Indonesian dishes and I was glad that Chef Chua included this dish in the buffet menu. His rendang has the spiciness that I love. The beef was super tender, and the sauce has a balanced sweetness from the caramelized coconut milk and spiciness from the sambal sauce.
Pandan Pancake with Coconut - Called Dadar Gulung in Bahasa, this is light dessert of rice pancakes flavored with pandan and filled with sweet coconut filling.
Pandan Chiffon Cake - This is a basic chiffon cake which is flavored with pandan. It's perfect with the Teh Tarik to end the meal.
